Melton Mowbray: rural crimes update

October 1st, 2009 | Posted by Admin

A crime update for the rural areas of Melton Mowbray, issued by Hugh Crouch, Community Initiatives Co-ordinator at Melton Police HQ.

In the Burrough on the Hill / Burrough Court area there were two incidents involving burglary to businesses during last Wednesday pm / Thursday am.  Did you see anything suspicious in the area? If you have a rural business please think about overtly marking your property with a product such as Select A Mark.

Scrap Metal: We have received a number reports that scrap metal collections are starting to increase again, with three incidents occurring in Nether Broughton, Kirby Bellars and Redmile. If you see a vehicle carrying scrap metal or acting in a suspicious manner, please call Leicestershire Constabulary on 0116 222 22 22 with details.

Melton Mowbray Rural Areas: crime update

July 4th, 2009 | Posted by Admin

A crime update for the rural areas of Melton Mowbray, issued by Hugh Crouch, Community Initiatives Co-ordinator at Melton Police HQ.

In the Stapleford area, a number of vehicles were entered and items removed. These occurred during the afternoon of the 28th June. Please can I remind people that if you are visiting remote area or beauty spot this weekend, please take care with your property – and if you leave it on show expect it to go!

In the Kirby Bellars area: A silver Vauxhall motor car was removed on Sunday 28th June. And in the early hours of Wednesday the 1st July, a rural property was entered. We understand that there was an attempted theft of a tractor with front end loader. If you see any suspicious activity including a low loader parked up, which is unusual please call Leicestershire Constabulary with details.

In the Easthorpe area: During the last week there has been a quantity of lead removed from a building, so please remain vigilant of this type of crime.

If you have any information regarding the above, or see any suspicious activity, please call Leicestershire Constabulary on 0116 222 22 22 with details.
