Melton Mowbray: rural crimes update

December 21st, 2009 | Posted by Admin

Issued by Hugh Crouch, Community Initiatives Co-ordinator at Melton Police HQ on the 17th December 2009.

There were a number of incidents in the rural areas of Melton Mowbray which all took place on the 17th and 18th December:

Burglaries: There were four incidents in the last week – at Gaddesby, Hose, Long Clawson and Rotherby.

Theft of Fuel: There have been two incidents of red diesel being stolen; at Wymondham (500 litres) and at Somerby (300 litres).

Turkeys: Six turkeys were stolen from a location between Pickwell and Somerby. The owner states that the birds would be six years old – making them less than ideal for the dinner table!

If you have any information on the above incidents, please call Leicestershire Constabulary on 0116 222 2222 with details.

Waltham on the Wolds: Beat surgery

April 29th, 2009 | Posted by Admin

There will be a ‘beat surgery’ at Waltham on the Wolds village hall on Tuesday 14th July, from 7-9pm. It will provide an opportunity for residents to express their concerns, and to hear what measures the police are taking to protect us from crime. There’s no need to book – just come along to the Harry Hunt room.

Melton Police are holding a number of these beat surgeries over coming months. There’s one in Hose next week, and another in Long Clawson in June. There’s a page on the police website which should hold details of all forthcoming events. Click here to view it (although neither events were showing when I just looked).
