Melton Mowbray rural areas: crime update

A crime update for the rural areas of Melton Mowbray, issued by Hugh Crouch, Community Initiatives Co-ordinator at Melton Police HQ.

A vehicle to watch out for is a BMW X5 or X3 displaying HG53DOJ. If seen please call Leicestershire Constabulary with details.

There have been three incidents relating to dwellings recently in the form of either attempts to break-in or entry has been gained, so please remain vigilant.

In the Muston area: Last night / early hours this morning 10th September a home was attacked, but no entry gained.

In the Long Clawson area: A home was entered on the night of the 6th September in the West End area.

In the Thorpe Satchville area: A Vauxhall Zafira vehicle was stolen on the 7th September.

In the Thorpe End area of Melton Mowbray: A JCB 3CX digger was stolen on the night of the 8th September. Please ensure you keep these vehicles secure.

Muston: distraction burglary

There has just been a distraction incident at a house in the Muston area, on the Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire border. The vehicle seen near to the location was a dark Blue Peugot displaying R175KNL.

It involved three men described as being aged around 18 to 20 and wearing black tops. One remained in the car whilst the two others went up to a house and told a story to gain access. One went upstairs.

Melton Mobray Rural North: crime update

Here is a crime update for the rural areas of Melton Mowbray as at the 5th June, issued by Hugh Crouch, Community Initiatives Co-ordinator at Melton Police HQ.

There have been a number of incidents involving items being removed from motor vehicles recently in Muston and Asfordby. Please ensure you keep your property secure and, if you have power tools, please property mark them in an overt style.

Muston: suspicious vehicle

Please keep a look out for a grey Vauxhall estate, possibly an Astra with blacked out windows and a registration number similar to VX05 – - Y. The vehicle was seen today around lunchtime parked with occupants in the vehicle on a driveway of a resident in Muston. When the vehicle was approached it drove off at speed. Anyone seeing the vehicle is asked to call Leicestershire Police on 0116 222 22 22.

Muston: theft from vehicle

This afternoon, at some time before 3.10 pm, a hatchback car parked on the lay by just on the Muston side of Muston Bridge (Woolsthorpe Lane), had its rear window smashed and a camera bag with equipment stolen from its boot. If anyone saw any suspicious activity in that area at that time, please phone Lincs Constabulary on 01522 532222, referring to incident 319 of 24 April.

Muston & Hose: recent crime reports

Melton Police Community Officer, Hugh Crouch, reports: A farm near Muston was broken into on the evening of the 6th Feb, during which a number of gas bottles were removed from a secure outbuilding. On the same day, an industrial unit near Hose was attacked. No entry was gained but the CCTV cameras and alarm cables had been cut. Please can I ask you to check your security installations and wiring on a regular basis, and if anyone requires assistance regarding security measures drop me an email to hugh.crouch@leicestershire.pnn.police.uk

Muston: house burglary

Between noon and 13.00 hrs today, Monday 5 January, a dwelling in the Woolsthorpe Lane area of Muston was forcibly entered and numerous items were stolen; the kitchen door was kicked in and an untidy search undertaken.

At about that time a white Astra van was in the area and police would like to speak to the driver of that vehicle. If the driver of that van or any other person has any information which may be relevant to the burglary, please call Leicestershire Constabulary on 0116 222 2222, referring to Incident 478 of 5 January, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
