Waltham on the Wolds: travellers’ encampment

We have received an email from a CrimeAlerts subscriber about the travellers who have reappeared on Goadby Road, beside the Severn Trent waterworks, asking why they haven’t been moved on.

As ever, the issues aren’t simple, as Neighbourhood Beat Officer Pc Mark Longden explains in his blog (click here to read in full) .

As long as no criminal offence has taken place, it’s a civil – rather than a police – matter. The responsibility lies with the land owner to take out a civil case through the County Court.

Crime incidents: Melton Rural North Area

Details of two incidents overnight in the rural north area of Melton Mowbray:

In Harby: theft of motor vehicle, FORD MONDEO, BLACK displaying W3DAJ was taken between 23:00 and 05:00 hrs.

Please ensure that you always consider key security and put them in a safe place away from doors, windows and not in reach of any door flaps and or letter boxes.

In Goadby Marwood: a dwelling was entered and various items removed. Please ensure that you keep you property secure, by keeping doors and windows locked.

If you see any suspicious activity please call Leicestershire Constabulary on 0116 222 22 22 with details.
