Welcome to CrimeAlerts

Politicians continually tell us that crime is going down. And say we shouldn’t feel more under threat than previous generations.

But for many of us, this doesn’t reflect our personal experience. If we haven’t been burgled ourselves, most of us know people that have. And it seems to be getting worse. Not better.

Whatever the truth, it makes sense to do all we can to protect our family, as well as our home and possessions. Keeping informed about local crime is one simple way of doing this.

This website was launched in October 2008 (read the full story). It is a completely non-profit making venture, and we welcome any help, advice and support we can get (click here to contact us).

Four regions

We’re starting the CrimeAlerts service in our own part of the country; around the Vale of Belvoir in North Leicestershire.

We’ve divided the area into four regions, and identified them by the largest town or village in each square.

Simply click on the map (top left) to view a larger version showing all the main towns and villages within each region. Or view a list of all the villages in each region by clicking here.

Privacy assured

You can subscribe to receive CrimeAlerts in all or any of these four regions. We won’t pass your details to any third parties. Nor will we send you any promotional or unwanted emails.

If you’d like to learn more about our CrimeAlert emails and privacy policy before subscribing click here.
